“Saraswathi Ammal Educational and Charitable Trust” (SAECT), Chennai, under the leadership and guidance of Dr. J. Ramachandran, Chairman of the Institute, started Saraswathi Institute of Medical Sciences in Hapur in the year 2008 to fulfill the objective of making it a premier institute of medical teaching and a centre of excellence for providing the best and affordable medical care to the community.
SIMS campus is situated in Anwarpur village, Pilkhuwa, Hapur district. It is spread over a sprawling 26 acres of land in a pollution-free and healthy environment situated at a distance of 60 Kms from New Delhi on the NH 24. The campus has several buildings to accommodate the Medical College, Hospital, Administrative Block, Residential quarters for teaching and Non-teaching staff, besides separate exclusive boys' & girls' Hostels for undergraduate and post graduate students and interns. The College teaches medical courses at Under Graduate (MBBS) and Post Graduate (MD/MS) levels approved/ recognized by Medical Council of India. SIMS is affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh (CCS) University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
Dr. J. Ramachandran is a well known educationist and social personality from Tamilnadu State and holds the distinction of being the President of the country’s first Marine University named Academy of Maritime Education and Training University, Chennai (AMET University).
The internship rotation is normal at the college. A normal OPD is here which is not too busy. Many students easily qualify for the NEET exam and also get a good seat in a government college. Many students also apply for junior resident jobs easily after studying at the institute.
