The Supreme Court of India said no to having a counselling round for NEET PG 2025 admissions. Some students wanted this round, which is sometimes called a special stray vacancy round because they still hoped to get into postgraduate medical courses.
The students went to court because a lot of seats were still empty after all the official counselling rounds were done. They thought one more round could help fill these seats and give students a fair chance.. The court did not agree with them.
The court said that the admission process has to follow a schedule. If they have another round at the minute it will mess up the whole system. It could make the session late and confuse colleges and students. The judges also said that if they make exceptions many times it could hurt the fairness and discipline of the admission process.
Because of this decision over 1,100 postgraduate medical seats in colleges in India will stay empty this year. This is a lot of seats, especially since medical admissions are very competitive.
For students this decision means that the counselling process is now over and there will be no more chances to get a seat this year through NEET PG counselling. Students who did not get in will have to wait for the session or think about other options.
The court decided to stick to the rules and deadlines of reopening the process even though many seats will go unfilled. The Supreme Court of India and NEET PG 2025 admissions are now final. The students and NEET PG 2025 admissions will have to follow the rules. The court and NEET PG 2025 admissions are very strict about the schedule.
