NEET PG 2025-26 : Supreme Court To Hear Pleas Challenging Cut-off Reduction On April 28

NEET PG 2025-26 : Supreme Court To Hear Pleas Challenging Cut-off Reduction On April 28

The Supreme Court is going to hear some petitions on April 28 2026. These petitions are about the decision to lower the qualifying cut-off percentile for NEET-PG 2025-26.

The Court wants to know if lowering the cut-off significantly will affect the quality of education for postgraduate medical students.

The people who started the petitions think that there were already candidates to fill all the seats. So they do not think it was necessary to lower the cut-off. They also think that the reason seats are empty is because the fees are too high, not because there are not eligible students.

On the other hand the people who support the decision, including the government, think that lowering the cut-off will not hurt the standards of education. They say this because all the candidates are already doctors with an MBBS degree.

The Court has not made a decision yet. It will hear the NEET-PG case in detail on April 28.

In short: The Supreme Court will decide if lowering the NEET-PG cut-off was the thing to do or if it will negatively affect the quality of medical education. The Supreme Court will look at the NEET-PG case. Make a decision about the NEET-PG cut-off.
