The cut-off for NEET-PG 2025 has been officially reduced, making 95,913 additional candidates eligible for postgraduate medical admissions. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) informed the Supreme Court of India about this decision during the ongoing hearing related to the admission process.

According to NBEMS, the decision to lower the qualifying percentile was taken to address the issue of vacant postgraduate medical seats in several institutions across the country. With the revised cut-off criteria, thousands of candidates who were previously unable to qualify will now be allowed to participate in the counselling process.

Officials stated that the move aims to ensure better seat utilization and prevent loss of valuable medical education opportunities. By expanding eligibility, authorities expect that more MD, MS, and PG diploma seats will be filled in the upcoming counselling rounds.

The board informed the Supreme Court that after revising the cut-off marks, 95,913 more candidates now meet the eligibility requirements for NEET-PG 2025 admissions. This development is likely to significantly impact the ongoing counselling schedule and seat allocation process.
