Established in 2005 by the Government of Uttarakhand, Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University (formerly UTU) is the state’s only affiliating university for technical education. Located in Suddhowala, Dehradun, it oversees 95 affiliated colleges and 8 constituent campus institutes spread across the state.
The B.Tech program is the flagship undergraduate offering at VMSB UTU, featuring a diverse range of over 15 specializations including Computer Science, AI & ML, Civil, Mechanical, and Petroleum Engineering. Admission to the first year is primarily based on JEE Main ranks through centralized state counseling, with a secondary provision for merit-based seats using Class 12 marks.

Admission to BTech at Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University (VMSB UTU) is primarily based on JEE Main scores and UKSEE merit, followed by centralized online counseling. Candidates must have 45%–60% in 12th PCM, apply online via the UTU portal, and participate in seat allotment. Lateral entry is also available.
