Established in 1992 by philanthropist Jahurul Islam, Jahurul Islam Medical College (JIMC) is the second-oldest private medical institution in Bangladesh and the first to be situated in a rural setting (Bhagalpur). Affiliated with the University of Dhaka and recognized by the WHO and NMC, the college offers a robust 5-year MBBS program followed by a mandatory one-year clinical internship.
The 52-acre self-contained campus is fully residential, featuring a 500-bed teaching hospital that provides students with extensive hands-on clinical exposure due to its high daily patient inflow. Teaching is conducted entirely in English, following a curriculum closely aligned with international standards, making it a preferred destination for Indian and international students.
