The National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NITDGP), established in 1960 as one of the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges in India, is a premier “Institute of National Importance” located in the industrial hub of West Bengal. Spread across a residential 187-acre campus, the institute is ranked 49th in the NIRF 2025 Engineering category.
The B.Tech program at NIT Durgapur is its primary undergraduate offering, providing 4-year degrees in nine major disciplines: Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Biotechnology, and the recently introduced Mathematics & Computing.

B.Tech admission at NIT Durgapur requires qualifying for the JEE Main exam, securing at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in Class 12, and participating in the JoSAA counselling process. Seats are allocated based on JEE Main ranks
