The National Institute of Technology Agartala (NITA), established in 1965 as Tripura Engineering College and upgraded to an NIT in 2006, is a premier public technical university and an Institute of National Importance located in Jirania, Tripura. The institute is set on a massive 365-acre residential campus and is ranked among the top 100 engineering institutions in India by NIRF.
The B.Tech program at NIT Agartala is the institute’s flagship academic offering, covering nine engineering branches such as Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Biotechnology.

NIT Agartala B.Tech admission is based on securing a valid rank in the JEE Main exam and participating in the JoSAA counselling process. Candidates must have passed Class 12 with a science stream, requiring at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) to be eligible. The final seat allocation is determined by JEE Main ranks, category, and seat availability.
