Government College of Engineering (GCE), Keonjhar, established in 1995 (formerly known as the Odisha School of Mining Engineering), is the only government engineering college in North Odisha. Affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) and recently granted autonomous status, the 45-acre campus is situated at the foothills of the Gandhamardhan mountain.
The B.Tech program at GCE Keonjhar is unique for offering rare specializations like Mining Engineering and Mineral Engineering, alongside traditional branches like Computer Science, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering. Admission is strictly via JEE Main or OJEE scores, followed by state-level counseling.
