After the provisional answer key for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 was released, questions were raised about its accuracy. The Coaching Federation of India (CFI) has reported that the answer key contains 17 mistakes. These include incorrect solutions, unclear questions, numerical errors, and situations where more than one option appears to be correct.
CFI has specifically demanded that bonus marks should be awarded for 10 questions that are considered seriously defective. According to them, most of these problematic questions belong to the Physics section, with a few from Chemistry and Mathematics as well.
The federation has emphasized that even a small change in marks can greatly affect a student’s rank, so fairness is extremely important. The final decision on these errors may influence the final scores and rankings of students who appeared in JEE Main 2026 Session 1.
